The shadow of the king

Once there was a jungle. The great Lion was the king of the jungle. Lion used to kill many animals daily for his food. All the animals used to be afraid always. Being upset with this all the animals decided to discuss this with the king. (panchatantra story)

All went to the king and shared matters of their concern. The king said I need food daily I have to kill any innocent animal. If one of you comes daily to me itself I would not have to hunt anyone and all of you will be free from fear of being hunt.

All animals discusses this and decided to come to anyone animal daily with itself. Since the next day, anyone animal from each family started to come daily one by one. This was very difficult for every family to sent one of its members to kill.

After few months there was, rabbit’s turn to go. His family tried many to save his son but they didn’t have any option. The rabbit was intelligent and smart. He started his journey. On the way, he saw a well surrounded by the trees so the place was cold. Rabbit sat there for a while. There was a pleasant atmosphere so he slept there.

Another side the lion was very angry about being late in food. In the evening rabbit wake up from sleep. He ran and reached the king immediately.

King asked him angrily you are late I will kill your whole family. Rabbit pretended to be scared. He started trembling with fear. He said with folded hand the great king there was another Lion in the jungle he took me and wanted to eat me but I saved myself and reached to you.

The lion asked loudly- where that lion is.? Took me that Lion. Rabbit took the lion near the well and told that the lion hid in the well. The lion saw inside the well he saw his shadow in the water. He roared to challenge another lion. He roared his voice with eco came out the lion thought that another lion challenged him for fighting. He jumped in the well and died inside the well. Rabbit’s family became very happy to see his family member. By his intelligence, the rabbit saved all the animals of the jungle.

The moral of the story – In difficult times don’t give up. Use your intelligence and overcome that situation.(panchatantra story)
